Ministry Spotlight

Churches throughout the Pittsburgh Conference have embraced our mission and created a variety of ministries to extend their reach and share God’s love with their local and global communities.  Our ministry spotlight highlights three of those ministries.
God's Choice Ministry, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

God’s Choice

The Pittsburgh Conference introduces individuals with special needs to the light of Christ through God’s Choice Ministries. God’s Choice is a church planting initiative that focuses on ministering to individuals with special needs, their families, and their caregivers through weekly services that include worship, crafts, and activities.  This ministry, which has grown exponentially since its inception in 2010, is now hosted at eight Pittsburgh Conference churches and six additional churches in other Free Methodist conferences and denominations.

God’s Choice Ministries continues to grow, and we are excited to see God work in the lives of so many.  You can join this growing ministry by contacting the founder and director of God’s Choice Church, Rev. Shirley Elosh, at

Biker Church

Location: Shoaf Free Methodist Church (Uniontown, PA)

The Shoaf Free Methodist Church identifies as a little family church with a big heart, and they have adopted our vision of “Every Pastor a Planter” through one of their newest ministries: Biker Church.  Led by Pastor Chuck McLaughlin, Biker Church is a church service for bikers, their families, and their friends– another example of creatively developing a community-focused ministry.  This small church also holds a yearly Praise Fest at the Light & Life Camp in Fairchance, PA that reaches several hundred people in a day long festival!
