The Pittsburgh Conference met in special session on Saturday, April 4 for the purpose of electing a new Conference Superintendent. Rebekah Guthrie reported for the Nominating Committee, outlining the process and steps the committee took in determining the nomination for superintendent. James B. Jobes was then presented as the nominee. He was elected by balot cast by the ministerial members and lay delegates to the Annual Conference. His term of service will begin June 13, 2009.
Jim has pastored the Smithfield, Shoaf, Ohioville, Monacrest, Fairchance and most recently the Uniontown Free Methodist Churches. He has served on various Conference boards and committees, including Board of Administration, Finance, Trustees, SALT Team Leader and many others.
