127th Pittsburgh Annual Conference
The second sitting of the 2009 session of the Pittsburgh Annual
Conference was a time of looking forward.
In the beginning moments:

John S. (Bud) Mitchell
(Brooke Hills) was approved for ordination as an elder.
·
Shirley Elosh, Carol Forsythe, John Goodman II, Jeremy Olszewski and R.
Clayton VanVerth
were received as Conference Ministerial Candidates.
·
Rev. Forrest States
was welcomed home to Pittsburgh Conference by transfer from the Genesis
Conference.
·
John and Mary Kelley
were recognized for their service on Friday afternoon, and a dinner in
their honor was served in the fellowship hall at East Liverpool, First
Free Methodist.
·
The evening service was the setting for the ordination service and the
Sacrament of Holy Communion. A reception for the new members of
Pittsburgh Conference followed the service.
Saturday morning :
·
Bishop Roller
introduced“CACORKE” which translates to “Creating a
Culture of Rapid Kingdom Expansion”. Christians do this by changing our
expectation of the church, and beginning to “live the story and tell the
story.”
·
Supt. John Kelley gave the “State of the Work” report.
·
Incoming Supt. James Jobes gave his “Vision Statement.”
·
Appointments were read.
·
Several changes in pastoral leadership take place this year, including:

Apollo – Forrest States

Bridgeport New Hope – Frances Powviriya
·
Brooke Hills – Bryce Grieco
·
Cove Run – Paul Eckenrode
·
Greensburg – Timothy Thunberg
·
Uniontown – Aaron Peternel
Prior to adjournment, pastors and lay delegates to the conference
gathered to pray for our new superintendent, James Jobes and his wife
Karen.
