The Pittsburgh Conference of the Free Methodist Church is actively pursuing a two-fold vision for transformative growth:

Every Pastor a Planter

You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses.  Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. 2 Timothy 2:2 (NLT)
We challenge our pastors to be leaders who inspire their congregations to multiply their church’s ministries.  Our conference is committed to finding creative methods to expand our reach in the communities we serve to ultimately grow the Kingdom of God.

Every Church a Global Church

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8
We embrace Christ’s vision of transforming the world through the power of the eternal God by sharing God’s redeeming love in our neighborhoods, our regions, and even beyond our country’s borders.  As global churches, Pittsburgh Conference churches incorporate Acts 1:8 into their everyday ministry by both supporting and seeking partnerships with Free Methodist World Missions.
Established in 1882, the Pittsburgh Conference of the Free Methodist Church has been serving the greater Pittsburgh area for more than 130 years.  Our mission is to multiply leaders and ministries that will introduce people to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
We are currently 35 churches throughout southwestern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia committed to spreading the gospel and embracing the Free Methodist Vision that calls us “to bring wholeness to the world through healthy biblical communities of holy people multiplying disciples, leaders, groups, and churches.”
Individuals, home groups, and evangelical churches are invited to explore affiliating with or joining the Pittsburgh Conference of the Free Methodist Church.  You can begin that journey by attending a Free Methodist church or by contacting our Pittsburgh Conference Superintendent, Rev. Douglas Rabe, at or (878) 207-2937.

Ministry Spotlight

 God’s Choice

The Pittsburgh Conference introduces individuals with special needs to the light of Christ through God’s Choice Ministries. God’s Choice is a church planting initiative that focuses on ministering to individuals with special needs, their families, and their caregivers through weekly services that include worship, crafts, and activities.  This ministry, which has grown exponentially since its inception in 2010, is now hosted at eight Pittsburgh Conference churches and six additional churches in other Free Methodist conferences and denominations.

God’s Choice Ministries continues to grow, and we are excited to see God work in the lives of so many.  You can join this growing ministry by contacting the founder and director of God’s Choice Church, Rev. Shirley Elosh, at
